Tanabata no Hi (七夕の日), or the Star Festival, is celebrated in Japan on July 7th. It originates from a romantic legend about two stars, Orihime and Hikoboshi, who are allowed to meet only once a year across the Milky Way. Global Facework students, along with the sensei's celebrated Tanabata no Hi, the festival by writing wishes on colorful strips of paper called tanzaku and hanging them on bamboo branches, along with other decorations. The celebration blends mythology, seasonal beauty, and hope for dreams to come true. This festival is practiced in our Global Facework institution to connect Japanese tradition with our Nepalese students.
